Greg Beck Quartet
Join us for evening of top-flight and groovylicious jazz provided by the Greg Beck Quartet as these local favorites return to the Ott & Hunter's intimate cabaret room. For this event, Greg's quartet have put together a special show featuring the music of Miles Davis' highly regarded and influential album "Kind of Blue"---this is one show you won't want to miss!
This fabulous quartet is led by Greg Beck on guitar, and is accompanied by Troy Chapman on bass (and guitar), Gary Way on piano, and special guest Jerry Garcia on drums. These musicians are a shining example of Whidbey’s world-class local music scene.
Greg started playing guitar in his early teens and went on to study music and theory at the Cornish School of Music in Seattle. In the music community, he is known as a well-rounded, highly experienced player. His passion for music was fired by such diverse influences as jazz/funk guitarist Howard Roberts, grooves by Freddie King and Ray Charles, jazz masters Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, and a long list leading to varied contemporary artists. As a member of the Viceroys, Greg was inducted into the Northwest Hall of Fame. On Whidbey Island, he is a member of the swing jazz ensemble, Trio Nouveau, and lead guitarist for the Latin Band, Bahia.
