NIck Mardon Trio - Best Of The Blues - 6 PM
Seattle-based guitarist and vocalist Nick Mardon returns to Ott & Hunter Wine Tasting Room on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, for two exclusive, themed performances at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM—each offering a completely different musical experience.
A longtime favorite on Whidbey Island, the Nick Mardon Trio is known for delivering sold-out shows that combine high-energy musicianship with an intimate, listening-room connection. This special two-show engagement highlights the band’s versatility with carefully curated sets for each performance.
The 6:00 PM show, “Best of the Blues,” is a deep dive into electric blues and blues-rock, featuring music made famous by Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Johnny Winter, Hound Dog Taylor, and more. With searing slide guitar, soulful phrasing, and raw, expressive playing, audiences will experience one of Seattle’s top power trios in a truly intimate blues setting.
The 8:00 PM show, “Deadheads Delight,” shifts into the psychedelic and improvisational spirit of late ’60s and ’70s jam band rock. Featuring music from the Grateful Dead, Cream, The Band, Jimi Hendrix, and more, this set leans into extended jams, musical exploration, and the free-flowing energy that defined an era.
Led by Nick Mardon—often referred to as “the hardest working musician in Seattle”—the Trio brings both technical precision and emotional depth to the stage. Joining Mardon is Nate Sharp on bass and vocals, alongside drummer “Doctor” Andy Emery, whose dynamic and intuitive playing drives the band’s signature sound. Together, the group’s tight chemistry and improvisational edge ensure that each performance is immersive, powerful, and entirely unique.
With limited seating and a reputation for selling out, these shows offer a rare opportunity to experience two distinct sides of the Nick Mardon Trio in one unforgettable night.
